Planning guide

What to know before you order.

01

Why real timber works in a bathroom

With a moisture-resistant core and lacquer sealing both faces and edges, timber fronts cope well with normal bathroom humidity. Good ventilation matters, and fronts should not sit in standing water or be splashed continuously.

02

Wall-hung and floor-standing vanities

Most vanity units have two doors or one or two drawers. Give us each front size and we make a matching set; for a run of drawers we can line up the flutes so the unit reads as one block.

03

Best profiles for small fronts

On narrow bathroom fronts a fine or medium rhythm such as Oxford, Cambridge or Soho keeps the pattern in proportion. Broad statement profiles suit larger double vanities.

04

Matching mirrors and wall panels

Extend the look with a fluted panel behind the vanity or a framed mirror surround. Ask about wall panels in the same timber.

Vanity units / FAQ

Questions,
answered.

Practical answers before you order. Every project is confirmed on a drawing before production.

01Can fluted wood be used in a bathroom?

Yes, with the right construction. We use a moisture-resistant MDF core and recommend lacquer on both sides. Keep the room ventilated and avoid direct water exposure.

02Should I choose “lacquered front only” for a vanity?

For bathrooms we recommend lacquering both sides so the back face is sealed against humidity.

03Can you make doors for my existing vanity unit?

Yes. Measure the existing doors or openings and tell us the hinge type. We confirm drilling positions on a drawing before production.

04Is walnut or oak better for bathrooms?

Both perform the same once lacquered. Oak keeps a light Scandinavian feel; walnut gives a warm, darker, hotel-style finish.

05What is the minimum order?

The minimum order is £250 + VAT, which typically covers a two-door vanity with drawers.
